夏は生い茂る緑、冬は純白の雪に覆われ、季節ごとに景色の移ろう自然豊かな丘に、向き合うように建てられた建築である。足元には羊蹄山の雪融け水が流れ、そのせせらぎが丘と建物の谷間に静かに響いている。
この丘の景色を様々な形に切り取って楽しめるよう、リビングが2層吹き抜けとなっているタイプや、上下階で異なる方角への眺望を楽しめるメゾネットタイプのペントハウスなどを、立体パズルのように組み合わせて構成した。
ゲストが再び訪れたとき、季節や年ごとに新しい感動に出会えるような空間を追求した。

2021年 竣工

A small creek encircled the site of this condominium hotel. A beautiful cliff-scape formed on the other side of the creek in the figure of an arc, like an amphitheater of natural topography. The cliff, owned by the same owner, was protected from further development as a “private landscape”, in the midst of active development by its neighbors. Conceived as a year-round accommodation, the large windows frame the ever-changing natural scenery, providing a backdrop of lush greens, vibrant Autumn colors and spiritual winter snowscapes for the interior spaces.
With only 12 units in the entire building, the project was envisioned as a collection of vacation
villas nestled along the creek. Wide range of room types are offered; from compact studio types to 4-bedroom duplex penthouses, all of which are designed to maximize its connection to nature. Standard units offer double height spaces that open directly to the cliff scape. Duplex penthouses offer a top floor that opens to a dedicated roof terrace for gathering of family and friends.
Every room is equipped with a private onsen with its own view of the landscape. A continuous stream of hot spring water flows into the onsen tub finished in natural hinoki cedar planks, easing the guests after a long day in the snow, or trekking through the forest.
